CHURCH DIARY 

OCTOBER


Saturday 3rd @ 10.00am until 1.00pm:

Annual Autumn Fair and Coffee Morning.  This event will feature sales stalls of plants, bric-a-brac and books and there will also be tombola stalls.  Refreshments will be available throughout the event.

Saturday 3rd (evening):
Ceilidh in for the benefit of Christian Aid.

Sunday 4th @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship including Communion.



Wednesday 7th @ 12.30pm:
Monthly Mid-Week Service to be held in the south transept.  Coffee / tea will be available from 12.00 noon.  All are welcome.

Sunday 11th @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship will be led by our Worship Group.


Wednesday 7th @ 7.00pm:

Away Carpet Bowls Match against Whalton to be played in Whalton Village Hall.

Wednesday 14th @ 7.00pm:
Home Carpet Bowls match against Warkworth URC.



Thursday 15th @ 2.30pm:

The second talk of the Autumn series will take place on the afternoon of 15th October.  The illustrated talk will be Jared Johnson and his subject this afternoon will be "Agincourt".  Tickets are available from 01670 514610.  Entry is by donation, something between £2.00 and £3.00 would be appreciated to cover the cost of the cream tea with home made scones and jam after the talk.

Saturday 17th @ 7.00pm:
St. George's Harvest Supper "Hoe Down" will take place in the Church Hall. This year we have moved from our usual pre-Christmas event to Harvest time.  An entertaining show combined with dinner has been put together - so think cowboys and the local sherriff putting the world to rights with the aid of a few cowgirls as well!  For tickets, contact 01670 518608 as soon as possible as tickets are being snapped uop very quickly.  Cowboy hats welcomed!

Sunday 18th @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship will be led by our Minister, Rev. Ron Forster with praise led by the St. George's Orchestra.

Wednesday 21st @ 12.30pm:
Lunchtime Concert in the Church given by the Woodwind and Piano pupils of Jennifer and David Murray.  Teas / Coffees will be available in the vestibule from 12.00 noon.

Satuday 24th @ 10.00am until 12.00 noon:
Annual Charity Christmas Card Sale and Coffee Morning in the Church Hall. We expect to have both local and national charities represented as usual.   Admission free. Please note that although this event is held upstairs, a lift is available for anyone who may have difficulty in walking. Tea, coffee and home made scones will be available.

Saturday 24th @ 7.30pm:
The Northumberland Theatre Company (courtesy of Greater Morpeth Development Trust) will be presenting five short plays under the title of "A Wife or the Gallows" in the church hall.Tickets are available from the Morpeth Tourist Information Centre.

Sunday 25th @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship Service will be led by Revd. Ian Farnsworth.

NOVEMBER

Sunday 1st @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship will be held by our Minister, Rev. Ron Forster.  The service will include celebration of Communion.

Wednesday 4th @ 12.30pm:
Monthly Mid-Week Service.  Coffee / tea will be available from 12.00 noon.  All are welcome.

Wednesday 14th @ 7.00pm:
Home Carpet Bowls match against Forest Hall.

Saturday 7th @ 7.00pm:

Country Dance Club evening.

Sunday 8th @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship service.  Special Remebrance Day Service.

Wednesday 11th @ 12.30pm:
Lunchtime Concert in the Church when we will be entertained by James Birkett and one his pupils, Bradley Johnson to give a mixed recital of both classical and jazz music.  Teas / Coffees will be available in the vestibule from 12.00 noon.

Sunday 15th @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship Service.

Thursday 19th @ 2.30pm:

It is understood that this Community Players event has been postponed until further notice.  

Sunday 29th @ 10.30am:
Special service for Advent.  The worship will include a toy service, a parade and the service will be musically assisted by St. George's orchestra.

DECEMBER

Wednesday 2nd @ 12.30pm:
Monthly Mid-Week Service.  Coffee / tea will be available from 12.00 noon.  All are welcome.

Sunday 6th @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship including celebration of Communion.

Sunday 6th (afternoon) to be confirmed:
Special 'Life Remembered Service' of special significance for those who have recently lost loved ones or friends.

Tuesday 8th @ 6.30pm:
Away Carpet Bowls match against Newbiggin.

Saturday 12th @ 10.00am until 12.00 noon:

Coffee Morning organised by the St. George's Ladies' Coffee Club when special Christmas baskets and other items will be available.  Refreshments also available throughout the event.

Saturday 12th @ 7.30pm:
Concert presented by the Mid-Northumberland Chorus will be held in the main body of St. George's.

Sunday 13th @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship Service.

Monday 14th @ 6.30pm:
Annual Community Carol Service with your favourite carols and Christmas lessons.

Sunday 20th @ 10.30am:
Joint Morning Service at St. George's when we welcome our friends from Morpeth Methodist Church.

Thursday 24th @ 11.30pm:
Christmas Eve Watchnight Service.

Friday 25th (Christmas Day) @ 10.00am:
Special Christmas Day celebration service.

Sunday 27th @ 10.30am:
Morning Worship Service.

Special Service fo Maundy Thursday.

Friday 25th (Good Friday) @ 10.00am:
Special Morning Worship for Good Friday will be held jointly with our Morpeth Methodist friends at Morpeth Methodist Church at Howard Terrace.

Sunday 27th @ 10.30am:

Special Morning Worship Service for Easter Day which will include Communion.  The St. George's Orchestra will assist with the Service Music.

APRIL

Saturday 2nd - all day:
Morpeth Gathering competitions will be held in the church and hall.  All are welcome to spectate.  Although the hall is upstairs, a lift is available for those who may have difficulty in using the stairs.

Saturday 2nd @ 7.30pm:
The Morpeth Gathering Ceilidh will be held in the church hall.

Sunday 3rd @ 10.30am:
The Annual Joint Morpeth Gathering Service with our friends from Morpeth Methodist Church will be held at St. George's.

Wednesday 6th @ 12.30pm:

TO HIRE ST.
